When buying a new smartphone, there are a few important factors that you should take into consideration. Here’s a list of the things you should pay attention to:
The Display
You’re going to spend lots of time on your smartphone, staring at your screen, just like most of us. Ensure that you buy one that’s sharp enough where the text isn’t blurry while surfing the web, and bright enough to see outdoors.
Don’t go under a resolution of 1920 x 1080p if you’re buying a smartphone with a large screen. Look for the sharper 2560 x 1440 Quad HD resolution options if you don’t mind splurging. Don’t forget to check out the screen size- Do you want a phone with a larger screen so you can enjoy streaming TV shows and movies? Or do you want a smaller one that’s less likely to fall from your hands and easier to hold?
The Battery
Talk to people who have already bought the phone you want to buy or read reviews. You’d want a smartphone that preferably lasts all day (if possible). If you use your phone often and find that its battery is “always dead”, consider purchasing a new one that has a fast-charging battery. Most Android smartphone makers include special chargers that allow the battery to reach half charge in just a few minutes.
The Storage
While you can save money by buying cheaper phones, they might not offer much storage. If you plan to download movies and/or music, it is recommended that you buy a smartphone with at least 64GB of storage. In fact, even apps and photos can take up a lot of space if they’re not stored on the cloud (Google Photos, Apple Photos, etc.) or microSD cards.
The Camera
Make sure you buy a phone with a good camera if you enjoy sharing photos with family and friends. Some smartphones are specifically designed to take pictures in low light too, so you can still get great photos in a restaurant with dim lights without using the flash. Keep in mind that budget phones don’t have great cameras, so if this is important to you, you might have to spend a little more.
